Consecutive Barbering Streaks Comes To An End

barber chair Consecutive Barbering Streaks Comes To An EndWe’ll acknowledge that Cal Ripken’s run of playing in 2,632 consecutive games was amazing.  We agree that UCLA’s streak of winning 88 back-to-back basketball contests was astonishing. And… we’ll give proper due to Joe DiMaggio’s run of 56 straight baseball games with a hit.

But, even with that said, the Grooming Guys believe the greatest streak in American Sports/Grooming-related history has to go to Michael Lubecki, a Master Grooming Expert in our Washington, D.C. store.  According to the Elias Grooming Bureau (and our HR documents), Mike, or “Doc” as we like to call him, had gone 6 years and 9 months without a sick day until this past week when a bad bug of some nature put him out of commission for a few days (it must have been bad cause nothing keeps him away).

During this streak we estimate that “Doc” performed somewhere in the neighborhood of 15,000 haircuts and 5,000 hot lather shaves.  But what’s even more impressive is that the majority of his guests have been return guests, men who swear by Doc’s acumen with the scissors and the blade. He’s that unique combination, like Cal Ripken, of somebody who not only does their job every day, but also does it better than anyone else.

Anyway, we’re certain a new streak will start up again in the coming days for Doc. HIs frantic and shaggy guests can’t wait for his return either.

Cal, John Wooden and Joe have nothing on this guy.

    He should be in Cooperstown!
