The Good & The Bad Of Growth

Stored in: Business Insights

Big_thumbs_upThe Grooming Guys aren’t ones to talk about ourselves.  We think we’re the modest type, just a couple guys looking to build a first-rate brand by treating our guests and staff right.  That said, you’re logged onto our web site and have elected to visit our blog.  Via deductive reasoning, we assume you might be interested in what’s happening at our company.  To that end, we wanted to give you a list of the Top Five things we’re working on, together with the good (thumbs up) and the bad (thumbs down-ish) of each project:

OPENING A STORE IN ATLANTA

The Good: Company growth, brand awareness, additional opportunities for staff, fun.

The Bad: Lots of money, lots of travel, engineers, permits, rent, build-out costs.

THE GROOMING LOUNGE 2008 CATALOG

The Good: Mailboxes coast to coast, holiday gifts, educating men, humor.

The Bad: Bad addresses, postage, people who toss what is essentially 50 cents into their trash can.

GROOMING LOUNGE HAIR CARE SOLUTIONS

The Good: New products, barber tested, great results, first-rate scents.

The Bad: Took too long to make, have to be stored somewhere, a lot of guys have no hair.

GROOMING LOUNGE “HOW-TO” GROOMING VIDEOS

The Good: Coming soon, irreverent, very informative, Carnegie, buzz-worthy.

The Bad: Re-takes, editing, bandwidth, not as handsome as we thought we were.

HEIGHTENED SERVICE LEVELS ON LINE & AT EXISTING STORES

The Good: You’re happy, you say nice things about us, you look handsome and feel good.

The Bad: Some guy just out of business school saying “that’s a really good idea… I should open one of those.”

Thanks for listening.
