One of the constants you’ll hear in our Grooming Lounge stores is our Grooming Experts telling guests post-shave, “Make sure to avoid touching your face for awhile.” They impart this advice to guests matter-of-factly, as after receiving our now famous lather and blade combo, most men just can’t stop themselves from confirming and re-confirming how smooth their mug is.
Why is this advice given you ask? That’s an easy answer and it’s a post-shave tip men should take into account whether or not they let us do their shaving. Yes, it even applies to shaves at home.
DON’T KEEP TOUCHING YOUR FACE ALL DAY!
The reason is that freshly shaved skin is more susceptible to infection, as the former and more established skin was just bid adieu by the razor. With this less-protected layer wide open, anything and everything on your hands gets right in that mug. Dirt, french fry grease, printer ink, whatever – it’s going to absorb more quickly into the skin increase the odds of breakouts and more.
So, no matter how close you got, just look and don’t touch. It’s a hard habit to break, but so is talking during movies and you’ve almost kicked that.
