Stored in: Grooming Tips, Product Introductions
Rewind about 18 months. One of the Grooming Guys thinks we should carry candles as they are an extension of personal grooming and a great lifestyle product. The other Grooming Guy thinks they are a bit wussie-like and vows “never to carry candles in Grooming Lounge stores or on groominglounge.com.” Grooming Guy #1 orders some high-end, guy-friendly candles anyway. Grooming Guy #2 gets a bit salty, but takes a tester home for his wife to weigh in on. Guy and wife think said candles create an awesome, modern atmosphere. Grooming Guy #2 is wrong. #2 apologizes to #1 and we’re all together on the candle bandwagon.
Flash forward to 8 months ago when the to-remain-nameless candle line we carried decides to sell exclusively via some cheesy store in every mall in America. So, we’re off candles for awhile until a few companies like Malin+Goetz, Acqua di Parma, Anvers and most-recently, Burn, introduce candles ideal for a fella’s domain.
Now we’ve got candles coming out the ying-yang (where is that anyway?) and it seems men like them ’cause of the atmosphere they create, the fact that they make a guy seem less prehistoric, they are great scent-busters in the bathroom and most chicks kinda’ dig em’. What other reasons would you need?
Thanks for listening.

Greetings. We founded the Grooming Lounge more than 10 years ago with the goal of providing men with the ultimate destination for skin care products, services & advice..

I love this story and I happen to work for the “cheesy store in every mall in America.” Just because you think we’re cheesy doesn’t mean we don’t sell great candles.
