Grooming Lounge Blog

A guest in one of the Grooming Lounge stores recently commented on “how great he thought the Grooming Lounge concept would do in other countries.”  We appreciated the compliment and told him that “while venturing outside the U.S. isn’t in the cards in the near future (we’re challenged  enough in commuting across state lines without getting traffic citations), we are indeed kind of international in that:”

1. We do ship products all over the world.  In fact, every day our online orders span no fewer than 2-3 continents.

2. The products we carry online and in our stores come from a broad spectrum of international locales.

Why are we telling you this?  Well, thought it might be interesting to plot out some of the more exotic products we carry and their country/region of origin.  Here begins our world tour, complete with snarky comments:

- SWITZERLAND: If there’s one thing the Swiss aren’t neutral on, it’s producing great grooming and skin care brands.  Case in point, Alchimie Forever and Task Essential.

- GREAT BRITAIN: Often thought of as the birthplace of men’s grooming, the Brit’s boast great brands like Geo F. Trumper, Truefitt & Hill, Molton Brown and Kent Brushes.

- ITALY: It’s more than just the destination Michael Corleone went after the whacking Sollozzo, it’s the home of Acqua di Parma.

- JAPAN: First they went koo-koo for Kyoku For Men.  Now everyone is.

- FRANCE: First that kissing. Then those great fries. And now Nickel?  What’s will the French invent next?

- AUSTRALIA: While Balla Powder is for “the land down under,” Eyre BioBotanics are from “the land down under.”

- GERMANY: Don’t have any clever German anecdotes or sayings, but they certainly make one hell of a razor and an awesome nail clipper. Thanks Dovo/Merkur for that.

Sure there’s a few more internationals and lots of outstanding products made right here in apple pie country, but our grooming geography lesson for today has now concluded.  Thanks for learning.
